Size: 22-30 mm.
General distribution: Nebraska to Arizona, S. to Mexico.
Distribution in New Mexico: Eastern half of state, Dona Ana, Hidalgo.
Habitat: Grassland.
Host: Grama grasses.
Adults Present: July-October.
Notes: Male cerci tapering to sharp point; body often colored with brown, red, and green; hind tibiae blue, tegmina somewhat shorter than abdomen. Not economically important.
