Size: 19-27 mm.
General distribution: Newfoundland and Labrador to British Columbia in Canada; S. to New Mexico and Alabama.
Distribution in New Mexico: Sandoval, Santa Fe, Taos.
Habitat: Mountains.
Host: Forbs.
Adults Present: July-September.
Notes: Male cerci somewhat bone-shaped or strap-shaped; furculae small, pointed; subgenital plate as high as wide; color gray-brown; hind tibiae reddish with pale basal ring; tegmina slightly shorter than abdomen. Not economically important.
