Size: 19-25 mm.
General distribution: S. Arizona to E. Texas, S. to central Mexico.
Distribution in New Mexico: Chaves, Dona Ana, Eddy, Hidalgo, Otero.
Habitat: Disturbed areas along arroyos, stream bottoms, and roadsides.
Host: Unknown.
Adults Present: March-November.
Notes: Medium-sized band-winged grasshopper, with distinct band on tegmina nearly matching similar band on hind femora; hind wing with yellow basal area and dark band with spur; hind tibiae green. Continuous crepitation. Not economically important.
