Common name: SAGEBRUSH GRASSHOPPER.
Size: 20-30 mm.
General distribution: S. central Canada, S. to Arizona, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
Distribution in New Mexico: Statewide.
Habitat: Grassland.
Host: Sagebrush, Artemisia sp.
Adults Present: July-September.
Notes: Similar to M. flavidus, but can be distinguished by paler color and structure of aedeagus; male cerci broad at base and narrow at tip; tegmina about as long as abdomen; hind tibiae blue. Not economically important.
