Common name: CRENULATED GRASSHOPPER.
Size: 17-21 mm.
General distribution: W. United States, except Pacific Northwest.
Distribution in New Mexico: Nearly statewide in grasslands.
Habitat: Grasslands.
Host: Blue grama and other grasses.
Adults Present: June-September.
Notes: A distinctive slant-faced grasshopper with dark brown crenulate markings on the tegmina; wings long; light brownish color. Can be a rangeland pest, especially with other grass-feeding species.
