Common name: CLEAR-WINGED GRASSHOPPER
Size: 19-32 mm.
General distribution: Yukon, E. to Nova Scotia, Canada; S. to Pennsylvania in the Eastern U.S., and California, Arizona, and New Mexico in the West.
Distribution in New Mexico: Bernalillo, Catron, Cibola, Colfas, De Baca, McKinley, Quay, Rio Arriba, San Juan, San Miguel, Sandoval, Taos, Torrance, Union.
Habitat: Mountain grasslands.
Host: Primarily grasses.
Adults Present: June-September.
Notes: Pronotum with distinct lateral ridges; tegmina with straw-colored stripe and dark spots. A pest of rangeland grasses.
