Common name: FUZZY OLIVE-GREEN GRASSHOPPER.
Size: 19-31 mm.
General distribution: Illinois, S. to Georgia, W. to Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas.
Distribution in New Mexico: Bernalillo, Colfax, Cibola, Curry, De Baca, Dona Ana, Eddy, Grant, Guadalupe, Harding, Hidalgo, Lea, Lincoln, McKinley, Mora, Otero, Quay, Roosevelt, San Juan, San Miguel, Socorro, Torrance, Union, Valencia.
Habitat: Desert, grassland.
Host: Flourensia cernua (tarbush), and some other composite shrubs. Favors wormwoods, Artemisia dracunculoides, and relatives throughout the plains.

Notes: Green, brown, or blackish; male cerci flattened at tip; wings short; body fuzzy. Not economically important.
