Size: 16-25 mm.
General distribution: S. central Canada, W. to Oregon, E. to Nebraska, and S. to central Mexico.
Distribution in New Mexico: Statewide.
Habitat: Grassland.
Host: Grasses, especially Agropyron.
Adults Present: June-October.
Notes: See A. elliotti notes. Can be destructive.
