General distribution: S. Ohio and S. South Dakota; S. to Chiapas, Mexico.
Distribution in New Mexico: No records, but should occur in eastern counties.
Habitat: Fields, prairies, open woodland.
Host: Probably grasses.
Adults Present: April-December.
Notes: Similar to A. conspersa, but usually lacking white band on anal region of tegmina. Very narrow spur on hind wings. Makes a crackling sound in flight. Not economically important.
