Common name: STRIPED SLANT-FACED GRASSHOPPER.
Size: 17-24 mm.
General distribution: SW Canada to central Mexico.
Distribution in New Mexico: Widely distributed.
Habitat: Grassland.
Host: Range grasses.
Adults Present: July-October.
Notes: Distinctive stripes, pointed head, and slanted face usually separates this grasshopper from other common range species. Can be destructive to range, especially in association with other grass feeders.
