Common name: WHITE WHISKERS GRASSHOPPER.
Size: 10-22 mm.
General distribution: S. Canada, S. to Durango, Mexico, and E. to Michigan.
Distribution in New Mexico: Statewide.
Habitat: Grassland.
Host: Various range grasses.
Adults Present: July-November.
Notes: Antennae white in life; tibiae red; hind femora with triangular dark markings on dorsal edges. This species differs from the two species of Psoloessa in lacking prominent lateral ridges on the pronotum. Economically important pest of range grasses.
