Common name: TOOTHPICK GRASSHOPPER.
Size: 35-45 mm.
General distribution: S. Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas; S. to Costa Rica.
Distribution in New Mexico: Chaves, Hidalgo.
Habitat: Slopes at 5-6000' elevation in oak-juniper zone.
Host: Grasses.
Adults Present: June-July.
Notes: Can only be confused with Paropomala, but with much longer tegmina and more pronounced slant-face. Collected very rarely in New Mexico. Not economically important.
