Tour Stop 2 - USDA-ARS Soil Scientist Jed Waddell (left, center) discusses his wheat/pea rotational study that looks at how different phosphorus levels applied to peas affect yields and nitrogen levels for the succeeding wheat crop.  This study is in its second year.  First year results showed that increased phosphorus rates boosted pea yields and protein, but need a limited effect on Nitrogen in residue.
